Mabel C. Karl, 85 of Rangeline died Monday, February 27, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Our loving mother and grandmother passed on to be with her husband, family and friends. She was married 61 years to "Snuffy" Raymond Karl. She loved to crochet, bake, sew, play bingo, watch the Packers play, gamble at the casinos, gardening, watch the NASCAR races and watch the cooking channels. She was always making things for her kids, grandchildren and great grand children. She will be deeply missed, but we know she is walking hand in hand with our dad. Mabel was born on February 13, 1927 in town of Green Valley, Marathon County to Fredrick and Theresa (Jung) Hoefs. She was united in marriage to Raymond J. "Snuffy" Karl, Sr. on June 21, 1948 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. He died on November 4, 2010. Mabel taught grades 1-8 in one room rural school houses in the area. After her teaching, she was a homemaker for 10 years then started working at Weyerhaeuser Company in Marshfield for over 20 years before her retirement. She is survived by her seven children, Donna Rae (Lawrence) Jones of Stratford, Donald (Wandnetta) Karl of Stratford, Linda (Harvey) Helms of Marshfield, Cindy (Richard) Becher of Stratford, Dennis Karl of Stratford, Carolyn (Robin) Genett of Auburndale, and Raymond Karl, Jr. of Auburndale; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by six sisters, Marion Carolfi, Gladys (Philip) Offer, Jr and Alice Petri all of Auburndale, Delores Faulks of Wausau, Geraldine (Ken) Erickson of Owen and Janice Woods of Mabanks, TX Besides her parents, and husband Ray, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Violet Carolfi, Alverna Poeschel, Elizabeth Brockman and Lorraine Stanton. Mass of Christian burial will be 11am Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Rozellville with Fr. Eric Berns officiating. St. Andrew's Guitar Group will provide the music for the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
