Obituary

Lynda B. Oemig, 80, Marshfield, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Serenity Living.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Marshfield with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. Revs. Wayne Oblender and Jon Guenther will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Cameron, Wood County. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lynda was born on August 22, 1946 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Reverand Otto and Clara (Mehlberg) Heier. She graduated from Luther High School in Onalaska and DMLC in New Ulm, MN. She married Roger C. Oemig on July 27, 1969, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tomah.

Lynda worked as a teacher and in daycare, later working in retail with Christian Books and at Stone Fence. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church where she played piano and organ for the church and was a part of the Trinity Women’s Circle and evening Bible studies. Lynda enjoyed knitting, reading, and puzzle solving, but especially treasured gatherings with friends and family, spending time with her grandsons, attending school events, family meals, and day trips. She will be remembered for her love of family, her faith, and the many meaningful moments she shared with those around her.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, son, Michael (Connie) Oemig of Marshfield, daughter, Sara (Josh) Holtz of Mosinee, and grandchildren, Jared (Mariah) Oemig, Seth Oemig and fiancée Kiarra Grosbier, Jacob (Jaelyn) Holtz, and Sawyer Holtz.

The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to the Serenity House care team and Heartland Hospice, particularly Jody, Donna and Miranda. Their care, compassion and dedication were truly a blessing to Mom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Clara, and sisters, Marilyn Godfrey and Suzanne Banholzer.
