Lylas M. Bauer, 88, Marshfield, died on Thursday evening, January 8, 2015 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Krueger officiating. Burial will take place in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Town of Richfield, Wood County, at a later date. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10:00 am until service time at Rembs Funeral Home.
Lylas was born on September 10, 1926 in Stratford, the daughter of Frank and Adeline (Doll) Grossbier. She attended Marshfield Schools and was a 1945 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to Donald M. Bauer on July 8, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. He died on August 2, 1997.
Lylas had been employed at Steve J. Miller Cheese Company, Figi's, and later at Burt Trophies, all in Marshfield. She was a member of the United Commercial Travelers and a former member of Christ Lutheran Church Choir. She enjoyed talking on the phone, baking, cooking, traveling and being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail Moen (Kurt Scheer) of Marshfield and Susan (Tim) Anderson of Pittsville and twin granddaughters, Journey and Destiny Anderson. She is also survived by a sister, Lois Giles of Marshfield and special family members, Dalton, Dillon and Darian Scheer and Lois Becker.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and a brother Raymond Grossbier.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in her name to House of the Dove or Ministry Home Delivered Meals.
