Obituary

Lucine J. Cook, 87, Marshfield, died with family by her side on Monday, June 27, 2016 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Tyson Barnes, Timothy Weidenfeller, Vaughn Heyer, Travis Heyer, Jeff Sternberg and Paul Czaikowski. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am on Friday until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. The Women at the Well group will recite the rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Lucine was born on August 19, 1928 in Marshfield, to Adolph and Leona (Stauss) Mittelstaedt. She attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and was a graduate of Marshfield High School. She had been employed at Hotel Charles for 20 years and later was a devoted housewife and mother. Lucine was a charter member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed traveling in her younger years and had been in various bowling leagues. She also enjoyed shopping, garage sales, social gatherings and especially attending her grandchildren's many activities. She loved life and people and touched many by making them laugh and smile. She was united in marriage to Lester A. Cook on April 16, 1966 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He died on May 4, 1999. She is survived by 3 daughters, Lynn (Troy) Dahlstrom of Mead, Washington, Leah (Robert) Richmond of Menomonee Falls and Lonnie (Edward) McQuillen of Marshfield; a stepdaughter, Maryanne (Dennis) Weidenfeller of Lake Mills and a step daughter-in-law, Christine Cook of Stevens Point. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Dahlstrom, Ethan and Danielle Richmond, and Robert, Flynn, Angela, Michael and Emily McQuillen; 3 step grandchildren, Tina (Tyson) Barnes, Timothy (Krissy) Weidenfeller, and Jennifer (Eric) Shudarek, and 5 step great grandchildren, Jeremy Barnes, Marissa, Matthew and Jennifer Weidenfeller and Chelsea Shudarek. She is further survived by her best friend, Mary Ann Heyer. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and 2 stepsons, Calvin and Robert Cook.
