Obituary

Lucinda “Cindy” J. Kopp, 99, Stratford, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Colonial Health Services, Colby, the last of 15 children.

Lucinda was born on September 1, 1926 in Marshfield to Joseph Sr. and Mary (Dieringer) Stini.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford where the visitation will start at 9:00 am with a rosary service at 10:00 am. Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County and serving as pallbearers will be Matt, Mike, and Sam Redetzke, Brandon Kopp, Alan and Dylan Grawien, and Byron Thompson. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford is assisting the family.

Lucinda attended Lone Elm School in Bakerville. She was united in marriage to Clarence “Shorty” Kopp on January 28, 1953 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville, and they celebrated 57 years together until his passing on January 10, 2011.

Lucinda enjoyed baking pies, babysitting grandchildren, great grandchildren and neighborhood children, embroidering, having family over, making meals, and tending her beautiful flower gardens. In her earlier days, she helped run the family farm, vegetable gardened, and canned. She also worked at the shoe factory before marriage and seasonally at Figi’s.

She is survived by her children, Doreen (Peter) Mayer of Cleveland, WI, Dennis (Janell) Kopp of Loyal, and Darla (Doug) Redetzke of Stratford; 10 grandchildren, Patty (Alan) Grawien, Amy Thompson, Kelly (Mike) Palushik, Brandon (Naomi) Kopp, Mikayla Kopp, Matt (Brittany) Redetzke, Mike (Gina) Redetzke, Sam Redetzke, Hannah Redetzke, and Rachael Redetzke, and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence, son, Darrell Kopp, grandson, Jacob Kopp, and great granddaughter, Ava Redetzke.

A memorial will be designated at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Colonial Center Health Services - Memory Care Unit in Colby and Northshore At Home Hospice for their wonderful care.
