Lucille L. Bauer, age 88, passed away on her 65th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Wells Nature View, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, where a visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Todd Mlsna will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Lucille was born on February 18, 1937, in the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County (Colby), to Reinhold and Martha (Hoefs) Wucherpfennig. She attended Unity Schools and was a graduate of Loyal High School. She was united in marriage to James J. Bauer on May 21, 1960, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, in Loyal, Wisconsin, and they were married for almost 58 years. He died on April 2, 2018.
Lucille had been employed as a Home Health Caregiver from 1980 until 2005. She was an avid Packer fan and liked maintaining her lawn, baking, and most of all, her family. She and Jim enjoyed yearly trips with friends to Las Vegas.
She is survived by her children, Kurt (Kim) Bauer of Black Creek, Jeffrey (Cathryn) Bauer, of Appleton, Kevin (Dana) Bauer of Colbert, WA, and Brenda (Jay) Schreiner of Marshfield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Candy (Jake) Zschernitz, Crystal (Brian) Varsho, Brooke (Jon) Smrecek, Jordan (Jenny) Bauer, Bailey (Jared) Kissinger, Dallas (Sterling) Bauer, Brady (fiance – Aliyah Beznaiguia) Bauer, Taylor (Lauren) Schreiner, and Austin Schreiner, and 10 great grandchildren.
She is further survived by siblings, Lenora Williams, Walter (Eileen) Wucherpfennig, all of Marshfield, Lois Aumann, and David (Nancy) Wucherpfennig, all of Loyal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Carol Sandley, and brothers, Marvin and Glenn Wucherpfennig.
Special thanks to Mandy and the entire staff at Wells Nature View and to Brianna and staff at St. Croix Hospice for the exceptional care. Mom would say, "Thank you kindly."
Memorials may be designated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter.
