Obituary

Lorinda L. Hoffman, 93, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Keith Kitzhaber and Deacon Ray Draeger officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Godsons will serve as pallbearers and grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until service time on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Lorinda was born on September 14, 1926 in the Town of Sherry, Wood County, to John and Mary (Altman) Brandl. She attended Mill Creek School and Auburndale High School. She met the love of her life, Herb Hoffman on May 24, 1943 and they were married on June 27, 1944 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore. After their marriage the Hoffmans lived in the Milladore area for 6 years and in 1950 they moved to Marshfield. In 1959 she became employed at St. Joseph's Hospital where she worked for 32 years. Herb and Lorinda celebrated both their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries. Herb passed away on January 29, 2006 and they shared almost 62 years of happy married life. Lorinda was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband. She truly loved her family and especially loved having the grandchildren and great grandchildren around. She is survived by her children, Gerald (Lynn) Hoffman of Antigo, Marlene Wells, Delores (Dale) Schreiner and Cheryl (Kim) Heiman, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Lori (Gerry) Immerfall, Kari (Jim) Seefluth, Tracy (Brian) Gust, Rhonda (Scott) Smith, Steve Schreiner (Brenda), Mariah Heiman, Trevor Heiman (fiancee – Hannah Wojcik), Eric Hoffman, Brett (Jenny) Hoffman and 11 great grandchildren, McKenna, Marissa, Zachary, Montana, Madie, Sydney, Jackson, Kamren, Kelsey, Ben and Derek. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 8 brothers and 5 sisters. Lorinda and her family want to thank everyone who touched her life. "Love you all". In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Sacred Heart Building Fund (Future Family Life Program) or to a charity of the donor's choice.
