Obituary

Loraine M. Weber, 96 formerly of Stratford, died on Thursday evening, December 29, 2011 at Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Rozellville with Rev. Eric Berns. St. Andrews Folk Choir and St. Josephs Resurrection Choir will provide the music for the service. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. Visitations will be 4-8pm Monday, January 2, 2012 at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and again on Tuesday at the church from 9:30am until service time. Parish prayer service will be at 7:45pm Monday at the funeral home. Loraine was born in the town of Day, Marathon County to Louis and Sophie (Bath) Spindler on January 14, 1915. She was educated at St. Andrews in Rozellville. Loraine worked in Chicago at various jobs before her marriage to Harold J. Weber, her childhood sweetheart on October 10, 1939 at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Harold died on March 28, 1999. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, birds, her cats and anything outdoors. She especially loved their place on the Willow Flowage, Canadian fishing trips and a good gin martini, sharing all with her family and friends. She was known for her chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies. Loraine and Harry especially loved dancing to big bands at various ballrooms in the m idwest. Howie Sturtz was one of their favorites, playing for their 50th wedding anniversary then her 95th birthday. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, Charter member of Stratford VFW Auxiliary Post # 6352, and the churches Nifty 90 Club. Loraine was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who we have had the privilege of sharing our lives with. Loraine is survived by her children Donna (Neil) Belke of Marshfield, Diane Key of Anniston, AL Darlene (Larry) Burr of Arpin, Harold (Diane) Weber of Wisconsin Rapids, Debra (Randy Albrecht) Kurtzweil of Hayward; 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, and husband Harold, she was preceded in death by three brothers Richard, Melvin and Harold Spindler.
