LeRoy E. Treutel, Sr. 86 of Marshfield died on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield. Memorial services will be 2pm Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield with Rev. Eric Berns officiating. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County at a later date. Family will receive relatives and friends from 1:30pm Friday until time of service at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. LeRoy was born on June 2, 1925 in Rozellville to John and Clara (Luchterhand) Treutel. He was united in marriage to Rita M. Pongratz on June 12, 1946 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Rozellville. He started work in 1946 at Roddis Plywood and later Weyerhaeuser Company, retiring in 1983 in the cutting department as a supervisor. LeRoy had a band named the Green Valley Dutchman for which they played for weddings, anniversaries and numerous events. He loved to play the button accordion. He had a large collection of toy farm tractors and implemens. After his retirement, he made yard art crafts for family and friends. LeRoy is survived by his wife Rita, children Dianne (Ed) Jacobs of Fallon, NV, John (Joy) Treutel of Mosinee, Judy Treutel of Marshfield and Bill (Shawn) Treutel of Fargo, ND; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister Maxine Aschebrook of Auburndale. Beisdes his parents, he was preceded in death by a son LeRoy "Chuck" Treutel, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Gene Aschebrook. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, nursing staff and chaplains on 4th floor of Ministry St. Josephs Hospital.
