LaVerne Martha Drews, 78, Marshfield, died on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. James Logan, officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at Our Lady of Peace Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. LaVerne was born on June 18, 1933 in the Town of Hollway, Taylor County, Medford, Wisconsin to Alfred Bruno Jacob and Hulda Helena (Huebner) Frischmann. She married Robert Henry Drews on August 30, 1951 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer. LaVerne had worked at St. Josephs Hospital as a medical transcriptionist until her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society Crystal Chandeliers, Marshfield Chapter, was a Scrapbooker for Chrystal Chandeliers, past member of Spencer Square Dancing Club, and the Round Dancing Club. She enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, and going to lunch with high school classmates. She is survived by her husband, Robert, and their children, Carolyn Drews of Denver, CO, Daniel (Susan) Drews of Edgar, and Christopher (Nicole) Drews of Wheeler, WI. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Rick, Davis, Justine, Rebecca and Elizabeth Drews. She is further survived by a brother, Harry (Laverne) Frischmann of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents, six children in infancy, sisters, Martha Paulus and Helen Rohrschieb and a brother Alfred Frischmann, Jr. In lieu of flowers the family will designate a memorial at a later date.
