Laura E. Bolster, 78, Pittsville, died peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home in the Town of Wood. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the United Church of Christ, Pittsville, with Rev. Wanda Veldman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 9:30 am until service time at the United Church of Christ. Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Laura was born on November 24, 1934 in the Town of Cary, Wood County, to Earl M. and Clara (Schmidt) Christensen. She attended Cary Bluff School and was a graduate of Pittsville High School. She was united in marriage to Edwin Bolster on December 29, 1956. He died on May 31, 1997. They had one child, Judith Lynn Bolster Casper. She died on May 16, 1994. Laura had been employed at Roddis Plywood Corporation, Marshfield, Olds Locker and Riverside Greenhouses, both in Pittsville. She was a long time member of the United Church of Christ, Pittsville where she served in their Mayflower Circle and many leadership roles including Sunday school teacher. She also was active with the Cary Bluff 4-H, a Girl Scout Leader and was a foster parent. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening, nature, birds, camping, fishing and was an avid sports fan. She is survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Casper, and Kody Casper, and son-in-law, Philip (Linda) Casper, all of Wisconsin Rapids, and step grandchildren, Justin Vandehey and Jeremy Vandehey of California. She is also survived by a brother, Robert (Sharon) Christensen of Claremore, OK, and a sister, Marilyn (Gerald) Pipoly of Durham, NC. She is further survived by several sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. The family will designate a memorial in Laura's name at a later date. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
