Obituary

Larry L. Syring, age 70, of Stratford, Wisconsin, died at home surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

He was born on April 1, 1955, in Marshfield, WI to Clarence and Ellen (Voigtlander) Syring. Larry grew up on a dairy farm in Edgar. He attended Stratford High School, graduating in 1973. He went on to work at Land O'Lakes until retirement in 2010 as a maintenance superintendent.

Larry would frequently visit Keglers Kove in Stratford before work where he met Audrey Hupe. They were married in 1979 and their union brought them two children, Lance and Lauralee. As a family, they enjoyed camping and traveling. Larry spent free time working with race cars as well. He also enjoyed hunting in the fall of Northern Wisconsin. As the family grew, he enjoyed anything that involved the grandchildren from school events, sporting events, and so much more. They continued to travel together as much as able with the last family trip being to the mountains of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Elmer Syring, father-in-law Roland Hupe, mother-in-law Annita Hupe, stepfather Dale Pokallus, sister Darlene Smith, brothers-in-law Arthur Smith and Kenneth Folz, sister-in-law Shirley Hupe, nephew Eric Smith, and niece Judy Shepard.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Audrey; son Lance; daughter Lauralee (Lee) Kunze; grandsons Lincoln and Landon Kunze; siblings David (Ellen) Syring, Charlotte (Jim) Jones, and Ricky (Renell) Syring; sisters-in-law Bev Folz, Bonnie (John) Cook, and Connie (Bill) Niemuth, and Brady Schilling, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, March Rapids, with Rev. Philip Wilde officiating. The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and from 9:00 am until service time on Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, March Rapids. Entombment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Syring, Jason Syring, Jeremiah Syring, Todd Folz, Tim Folz, and Steve Niemuth, and honorary pallbearers will be Lincoln and Landon Kunze.
