Larry W. Lau, 74, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Burial will take place in McMillan Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Town of McMillan. The visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at Rembs Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 54, following the service. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Zach, Aaron, and Tristan Berger and Hunter Kuhn. Larry was born on October 17, 1937 in Luverne, Iowa to Albert and Katherine (Smith) Lau. He was a 1955 graduate of Fort Dodge High School in Fort Dodge, IA. Larry was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Saratoga from 1955 until 1961. He and Betty A. Hruska were united in marriage on April 23, 1966 in Fort Dodge, IA. After his honorable discharge from the military Larry worked for Land 'O Lakes in Fort Dodge for twenty one years and then transferred to Land 'O Lakes in Spencer, WI where he worked for nineteen years until his retirement. Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, gardening, and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed many summer vacations in Wisconsin Dells with family and friends. He also loved playing cards and shaking dice. He is survived by his wife, Betty, a daughter, Barb (Brandon) Kuhn of Marshfield and a son Gary Lau. He is also survived by grandchildren, Zach, Aaron, Tristan, and Hunter. He is further survived by four brothers and a sister, Max (Liz) Crittenden of Zenica, Bosnia, Carol (John) Davis of Fort Dodge, IA, Butch Lau of Fort Dodge, IA, Tom (Glena) Lau of Florida, and Mike Lau of Fort Dodge, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jan Auten. Memorials may be directed to the family who will designate a memorial in Larry's name.
