Larry D. Knutson, 71 of Marshfield died on Friday, November 25, 2011 surrounded by his family at the Palliative Care Unit at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services will be 7pm Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Rembs Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitations will be from 4-7pm Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. Larry was born on September 10, 1940 in Arpin to Ole and Margaret (Strupp) Knutson. He attended Arpin Elementary and Auburndale High School. He was united in marriage to Linda E. Schaefer on March 13, 1978. She died on July 19, 2011. Larry worked for 44 years at Weyerhaeuser Company in Marshfield before retiring in 2004. During this time he also drove for Radio Cab in Marshfield for 36 years. After his marriage, he and Linda operated an adult foster home for the developmentally disabled for thirteen years. They enjoyed traveling, particularly to Branson, MO. He is survived by his stepchildren, Ronald (Marilyn) Brost of Unity, Randy Brost of Unity, Rodger (Eren) Brost of Murrieta, CA, Renee (James) Elpert of Unity, Roxanne (Paul) Wetterau of Spencer, Rosalee Rogers of Unity and Rhonda (Richard) McBride, Jr. of Unity; twenty four step grandchildren, twenty five step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother Glen (Jean) Knutson of Arpin, two sisters, Nina Wellnitz of Arpin and Elaine (Alroy) Kempf of Marshfield; sister-in-law Esther Knutson of Rockford, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Linda, he was preceded in death by a brother Harold, infant sister and a brother-in-law Roy Wellnitz. Memorials may be designated in his name to Immanuel Lutheran School.
