IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lance John
Batchelor
May 16, 1955 – November 9, 2023
Lance John Batchelor, 68 of Butternut, WI, passed away Thursday, November 9th, surrounded by his family. Born May 16th, 1955, to the late Melvin and Joan Batchelor.
Lance graduated from Beloit High School in 1973. After graduating, he worked in a machine shop. He spent the majority of his working career with General Motors before retiring in 2017 with 31 years of service. This is where he met the love of his life, Ann Batchelor. They married on October 5, 2002, and enjoyed 22 years together. Unable to have kids of his own. He took in Ann's 3 sons as his own, and he was "Dad" to them.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Nascar and was a die-hard Dale Earnhardt fan. He also watched the Packers and Kansas Basketball. He enjoyed working with honey bees and was a beekeeper for over 27 years.
Lance is survived by his sisters Linda (Dave) Hughes of Park Falls, WI, Bonnie (Lanier) Norman of La Cassas, TN and his brother Phil (Eileen) Batchelor of Rockford, IL. Along with his long-time friend Laurie Hedgecock. He will be deeply missed by his sons Joe (Renata) Furan, James (Samantha) Furan, and Jerry (Dani) Furan. Along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents and his mother and father.
The family would like to thank the Marshfield Medical Clinic. Specifically, the teams on the 3rd floor CICU and the palliative care on the 4th floor. Their kindness, care, and compassion for Lance and his family during his stay was incredible.
