Obituary

Kenneth P. Verhulst, 84, Marshfield, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Kenneth was born on May 31, 1930 in Greenwood, the son of Clarence and Esther (Johnson) Verhulst and was a graduate of Greenwood High School. He married Beatrice M. Resch on September 4, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church. The Verhulsts' farmed in the Town of Warner, Clark County, until 1964. He then was employed in carpenter work until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799 of Marshfield. Ken is survived by his wife Bea, and their 4 children, Jerry (Sheveney) Verhulst of Marshfield, Cheryl (Wally) Hribar of Prior Lake, MN, Barb (Tim) Nagel of Marshfield, and Diane (Matt) Ruzic of Rhinelander. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jeremy (Erin), Chris, Nikki (Jennifer), Abbi (Roger), Eddie, Mandy (Nate), Andy (Stacey), Amy, Carrie (Travis), Coy (fiancé - Kate) and Courtney (Nate) and 8 great grandchildren, Eli, Kaiden, Sydney, Alexis, Morquis, Luke, Zach, Ciera. He is further survived by a brother, Harold (Jean) Verhulst of Sioux Falls, SD and a sister, Corrine Verhulst of West Village Lake, CA. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Lyle and a granddaughter, Angel Hribar. Memorials may be designated in his name to St. John's Catholic Church.
