Kenneth H. Mundt, 89, Marshfield, died on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at S. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Entombment will take place in Hillside Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 am on Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Kenneth was born on March 16, 1925 in Marshfield, the son of Fred and Olive (Beidel) Mundt. He attended St. John's Parochial School and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. In July of 1943 he was drafted into the United States Army serving in the Pacific during World War II until his honorable discharge in January of 1946. He married Beverly C. Braem on September 7, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
As a young man Ken began work at the Marshfield Fire Department and was one of the first paid employees. He then became employed at Roddis Plywood, Marshfield and later at Marathon Corporation in Neenah. He later owned and operated a beer and soda distributorship in Stratford. He also developed Elm View Subdivision until his retirement. After retiring he moved to a home on Little Bearskin Lake in the Town of Harshaw.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, The Elks Lodge, The Lions Club and the Marshfield Eagles Club.
Ken is survived by his wife, Beverly and their children, Steven Mundt of Enterprise, Alabama and Lori Ann Rininger of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Shannon Ertz, Travis Dawson and Leah Mundt, and 3 great grandchildren. He is further survived by 3 sisters, Joan Finamore of Marshfield, Ruth Forster of Arlington Heights, IL, and Karen (Fred) Johnson of Apple Valley, CA.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Memorials may be designated in his name to St. John's Catholic Church or House of the Dove.
