Kenneth D. Kasner, 47, Marshfield, died on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Hewitt. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve King, Scott Piltz, Scott Wojcik, Steven Wojcik, Ryan Ricci and Steve Maurer. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Michaels Church. Ken was born on March 8, 1964 in Marshfield, the son of Roger and Joyce (Pember) Kasner. He was a 1983 graduate of Pittsville High School. He began employment at GTE which later became Verizon and now Frontier Communications until the present time. Ken was united in marriage to Julie Zeman on October 2, 1992. He was an avid hunter, especially bow hunting. He was a member of the Buck and Bear and Pope and Young clubs. He loved the outdoors, working in the woods and was a neighborhood fix-it man. He was always there to lend a hand. Ken was a loving husband, father, proud papa and friend. He is survived by his wife, Julie and sons, Jason (Jenny) Betancur, David (Summer) Betancur, and Michael (Samantha) Betancur and grandchildren, Jaelyn and Jacob Betancur. He is also survived by his father Roger and his wife, Linda, and his parents-in-law, Emery and Janet Kelly. He is further survived by his sisters, Rhonda (Jeff) Ricci and Lisa (Brian) Wigglesworth and sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Mussel, Bill Zeman, Ray and Kathy Wojcik, John Zeman, and Dan and Helen Zeman, Dale Bredemann, and by seventeen nieces and nephews and twenty one great nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Hackett of the Bone and Joint Clinic and the staff of the palliative care unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the care that was given to Ken. He was predeceased by his mother, Joyce in 1988 and a sister, Ranee Bredemann in 2010.
