Obituary

Kathleen M. Reinhart passed away peacefully on April 26, 2021 at the Palliative Care Unit of Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Kathleen (Katie) was born on January 21, 1931 in Peoria, Illinois to Walter Hinkley and Flossie Morris. She and her family eventually moved to Carroll, Iowa where she graduated from Carroll High School and met her future husband, John Reinhart. They were married in 1950 and together raised five children, moving several times for John's career, eventually settling in Bellevue, Nebraska. Katie was a homemaker all her married life and had a knack for decorating and interior design. She moved back to Carroll in 1971 and with her talent, worked as an interior decorator and salesperson at Prenger Furniture until her retirement. She enjoyed her home in Glidden, Iowa before moving to Central Wisconsin in 2006, residing first in Wausau, then moving to Marshfield in 2013. Katie enjoyed reading, decorating, antiques, gardening, watching old movies, and always had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats. She had a love of the seashore and the north woods, decorating her home to reflect that, especially with bears and moose. One of her favorite activities was to visit Wildwood Park & Zoo and watch the Kodiak bear cubs, Munsey & Boda, grow up. She was a very caring, giving person with her home always open to family and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Steven, who passed away in May of 2015. Survivors include three sons, Martin (Laurie), Wausau; Tony (Dayna), Liberal, Kansas; Randy, Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and one daughter, Joan Wright, Branson, Missouri. She is also survived by one sister, Judy Cook, Palo Pinto, Texas; one niece, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church, 621 N. 2nd Street, Wausau, Wisconsin with Monsignor Mark Pierce officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial gifts are suggested to the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter or Wildwood Park Zoological Society, Inc. in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
