Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" "Tubbs" Braunsky, 66, passed away peacefully on August 2nd, 2026, in her home, surrounded by family and friends.

Kathy was born on July 10, 1960, in Marshfield to Leon and Marie (Wilhelm) Schneider. She attended Marshfield Senior High School and graduated with the Class of 1978. On September 8, 1979, Kathy married the love of her life, William "Bill" Braunsky. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. They were blessed with two children, Timothy "Tim" Braunsky and Lynn Braunsky.

Kathy dedicated 40 years to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she worked in housekeeping. She spent most of her career in the Birth Center, where she not only enjoyed working alongside her coworkers but especially loved witnessing the joy of growing families. Her upbeat personality, warm smile, and infectious laugh made a lasting impression on countless patients, families, and staff.

Kathy truly lived life to the fullest. She treasured spending time with Billy, Tim, and Lynn; attending "the races" at Dick and Lucille's; going on moped adventures; bumming around with family and friends; attending annual steam shows; playing bingo (even if she occasionally got sidetracked by conversation); and, of course, sharing her unforgettable "gift of gab." Kathy had a personality unlike any other—she could light up a room, make anyone feel welcome, and find something positive in every situation.

Kathy also had a special love for all animals, especially cats. She could never resist a gentle leg rub or a happy tail wag. Kathy also enjoyed Lynn’s chickens.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Billy; her son, Tim Braunsky of Marshfield; and her daughter, Lynn (Joe) Braunsky of Arpin. She is also survived by her brother Mike (Pam) Schneider of Hewitt, sisters, Karen (Bruce) Schneider of Marshfield, Jane (Jeff) Martyn of Stratford, and Judy (Duane) Clark of Bancroft; her brother-in-law, James Braunsky; her sister-in-law, Frances (Don) Stoflet; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Marie Schneider; her parents-in-law, Richard and Lucille Braunsky; and her brother-in-law, John Stoflet.

To honor Kathy's memory, we ask that you embrace life as she did. Find joy in the little things, seek the positive no matter the circumstances, and never let a conversation go stale. May Kathy's light continue to shine brightly in your hearts and live on through the kindness and laughter you share with others.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Marshfield Clinic/Sanford Health, St. Croix Hospice, and the many family members and friends who supported Kathy throughout her courageous battle with cancer and COPD.

A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at a later date.
