Kathleen Anne Borowski, 78 passed away on February 1, 2012 to rest in peace beside her late husband Ralph Borowski who preceded her in death March 7, 1998. Kathleen was born December 30, 1933 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Dr. Thomas OConnor and Anna (Lebeis) OConnor. It was in Bloomer she attended St. Pauls parochial school and then graduated from McDonnell High School in Chippewa Falls, WI. Mount Mary College would never be the same as she graduated in 1955 with a degree in History. Her dear college friends have remained life-long friends and their stories still haunt the halls of that revered institution. After college Kathleen taught at St. Josephs academy in Green Bay. She met Ralph Borowski at her beloved cottage on Lake Couderay as a seminarian acquaintance of her brother Jack. The story remains that Ralph left the seminary for Kathleen, Kathleen insisted it was Ralphs love of fishing that drew him to "her lake". They wed on August 17, 1957 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Bloomer, WI. They moved to Oshkosh where she taught at Sacred Heart High School then moved to Milwaukee, Brown Deer and finally Marshfield due to Ralphs various positions in hospital administration. The fun continued with the births of each birth of their four children Mary K. Borowski (Minneapolis, MN), Ann (Craig) Denney (Glenwood Springs, CO), Barbara Borowski (Mead, CO) and Thomas (Mary) Borowski (Mankato, MN). Kathleen was active in all their activities and served as the Our Lady of Peace School Board President. She was employed by Figis for 25 years as a customer service representative. Summers were spent at the lake from Memorial Day to Labor Day where she was a member of the Victory Heights Association and Couderay Lakes Association. Her other interests included Bridge, raking, lake activities (no need to expound), raking, reading, raking, bingo and the casinos, raking and travel. Kathleen travelled the globe with her daughter Mary visiting her Irish homeland, as well as many European countries, Egypt, Mexico and various Caribbean countries. Besides her children, Kathleen is survived by her brother John (Barb) OConnor of Stevensville MD, her sister in law Rita (Jim) Olson of Lancaster, PA, 8 grandchildren Avery and Connor Denney; Cole, Bridget and Clair Stanton; Daniel, Joseph and Samuel Borowski and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Her family and friends can attest to Kathleens Irish gift of gab and she loved being with all her dear friends from the cottage, her long time Marshfield friends, her loyal and caring neighbors in the Forest Ridge subdivision, especially Paul Helgerson. A special thanks to her dear friends Joan Hughes, Pat Wagner and Jan Freeman who helped so much while in hospice, and to all those who visited her at the cottage and the house while she battled cancer. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am Monday, February 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. James Logan officiating. Burial will be at St. Catherines Cemetery in Bloomer, WI. Visitations will be on Monday at Our Lady of Peace from 9:30 am until time of service. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the Borowski Family. A summer memorial service and Irish wake of sorts will be held at the cottage this summer after the yard is raked. Memorials can be made to Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Columbus High School of Marshfield, WI, Our Lady of Peach Catholic Church, Mount Mary College or the St. Francis Indian Mission in Hayward, WI.
