Justin R. Kissinger, age 44, Pittsville, died on Sunday, July 14, 2024, following an auto accident.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 9:00 am until service time. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. A celebration of life will follow at City Point Community Center, W1364 Old Highway 54, Pittsville, WI (City Point) until 6:00 pm.
Justin was born on September 20th, 1979, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Jeff "Henry" and Beth (Guldan) Kissinger, and was a 1998 graduate of Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids. He married Jana R. Joosten on September 23, 2006.
Justin was a beloved father, outdoorsman, community leader, and selfless helper with a heart of gold. He left behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family, community, and friends. He found solace in the tranquility of the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Justin was raised on a cranberry marsh in Vesper, Wisconsin. Later he continued on as a cranberry grower owning and operating his own marsh. At the time of his passing, he was employed at 6M Cranberry, Pittsville.
Justin was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting trap, and snowmobiling. He had a knack for making delicious maple syrup and wine. He was a proud member of the Black River Trap Club, where his passion for shooting brought him joy and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts. Justin served his community as a respected fire chief with the City Point Volunteer Fire Department. His leadership and bravery were evident in every call he answered, and his commitment to public service inspired all who knew him. He was also proud to volunteer his time with the USSA (United Special Sportsmen Alliance).
Beyond his professional achievements and love for the outdoors, Justin's legacy will live on through his children, whom he adored and loved with everything he had. Justin was and always will be their biggest supporter in everything they are involved in. He was a family man, a soccer dad, and a hunting buddy.
His presence and sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around him, and his kindness and generosity touched many lives. Justin was willing to help anyone at any time. He worked tirelessly to make others' lives easier, embodying a spirit of selflessness and compassion that left a lasting impression on everyone he knew.
He is survived by his children, Hunter and Wilha, his wife, Jana, his mother, Beth Kissinger, and his very special person, Missy Hunt and her daughter, Elle. He is also survived by his sister, Bre (Jesse) Koeshall, his brother, Colton (Jacci) Kissinger, parents-in-law, Wayne and Kris Joosten, brother-in-law, Erik (Tracy) Joosten and his nieces and nephews; Tasha, Easton and Kallie Koeshall, Willie Washington, Rayna and Jeffery Kissinger, Adelia and Ethen Joosten.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jeff "Henry" Kissinger.
His final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated in Justin's name to a "hunting wish" granting charity.
Most people aren't lucky enough to have a friend like him.
