Julius James Doberstein of Withee, Wisconsin passed away on October 23, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center.

Julius was born on December 12, 1940 in the town of Hamel, Wisconsin to Julius and Ruth (Potter) Doberstein. Julius grew up in the area and graduated from the Medford Area School District in 1959. In 1960 he married his high school sweetheart Nancy Doberstein (Hartman).

He was a farmer, avid hound hunter, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Julius is remembered as the owner and operator of the Doberstein Express. He helped found many hound hunting clubs and associations.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Elvin, Dennis, William, Daniel(Rose), Brenda Doberstein; 11 grandchildren, Nina (Mark Ried), Ashley (Adam Scheinoha), Anthony (Pepsii), Jesse (Robin), Jeffery, Emily (Christian Ludwig), Monica, Elizabeth (Taylor Doberstein), Eric Doberstein, Chevy VanDerLeest, and Angela VanDerLeest; and 15 great-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; 1 step great-great grandchild; and a younger brother and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Julius and Ruth (Potter) Doberstein, son Carl Doberstein, Siblings Evelyn (John) Phoenelt, Russel (Shirley) Doberstein, Janet (Leonard) Langteau and an unborn brother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
