A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, January 5th at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield, WI. The family will receive relatives and friends starting at 3:00pm. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Chaplain Renata Hinrichs will officiate.

Judy was born February 17, 1941 in Hibbing, MN to John Hennessy & Shirley (Swan) Hennessy. As a young girl, she moved from Hibbing to Englewood, CO, where she lived with her Mom and loving step-father, John Mullen. After graduating from Englewood High School, Judy worked as an X-Ray Technician. She married Darrell Dupee in May of 1970. They lived near Denver until 1978 when they moved to Arpin, WI to be closer to Darrell's family.

After moving to Arpin, Judy joined the Auburndale School District, first as a teacher's aide then becoming the secretary to the High School Principal. Anyone entering the school office could count on her warm, friendly smile and a kind greeting. Judy loved the teachers and staff she worked with, many becoming close friends, and she treated the students as if they were her own. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel heard and important. Because her desk was just outside the Principal's office, she spent a lot of time with those waiting to be disciplined, and held a special place in her heart for those going through tough times.

Judy's daily work at the school often extended into the evening, selling tickets to all of the school's sporting events. It gave her a front row seat for watching and loudly cheering on her kids, grandkids, their friends, and all of her beloved Auburndale Apaches/Eagles athletic teams. She retired in 2011 after 30 years of service to the District, but continued to serve in the schools for a number of years as a volunteer helping elementary school students who needed extra support in reading.

Judy always put the needs of others first and carried everyone else's worries as her own. She spent the first hour of every morning saying prayers for those she loved and those she knew needed to be lifted up. She loved unconditionally and forgave easily. She emanated positivity. She despised conflict and would do whatever she could to find resolution. She gave the greatest hugs freely and often and never let go first. She loved to laugh and her beautiful blue eyes sparkled when she smiled. She believed in Angels. She was always up for an adventure and loved to travel. She loved cats, especially Witty and Louie (who already misses her greatly). She loved going to the movies and getting buttered popcorn and Pepsi. She loved supporting anything her children or grandchildren were involved in and would go to great lengths to ensure she could be there to cheer them on in person. She loved visiting with her friends. She loved music and loved to dance. She loved the Bucks, Brewers and Packers and hated missing a game on TV. She loved the arts and gave us all an appreciation for plays, musicals, concerts, art exhibits, museums and more. She loved Hallmark movies. She loved board, dice and card games and competed mightily no matter who she was playing against. She taught us empathy for others, how to navigate challenges with grace, and that nothing is more important than surrounding yourself with the love of family and friends.

Judy leaves a remarkable legacy and playbook on life. Her children and grandchildren vow to live life the "Judy Way" to ensure that legacy lives on forever.

Judy is survived by her loving children Christine Esser of St. Louis, MO, Marc (Kathy) Dupee of New London, WI and Steve (Sarah) Dupee of Wauwatosa, WI; her eight grandchildren, Nicole (Nate) Zweber, Jillian Chansomphou, Bret and Will Stenson, Braden, Olivia, Norah and Leo Dupee; and three great-grandchildren, Lola and Vivienne Zweber, and Kai Chansomphou. She is further survived by her dear brothers and sisters, Stephen (Jeannie) Hennessy, David (Linda) Mullen, John (Karen) Hamilton, and Jeanne Hamilton, along with many loving in-laws and other relatives and friends across the country.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Darrell.

In lieu of flowers, Judy asked that memorial contributions be made to organizations supporting things she cared deeply about… children and her cat Louie. As such, contributions can be made to either Rawhide Youth Services at https://www.rawhide.org/give-to-rawhide/ or to the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter at www.marshfieldpetshelter.org/donate.
