Juanita M. Steinwagner, 84 of Marshfield died on Thursday morning, January 19, 2012 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 am Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. James Logan officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Grandchildren and a nephew will serve as pallbearers. Visitations will be from 9:30 am Tuesday until time of services at Our Lady of Peace. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Juanita was born on September 17, 1927 in Nancy, KY to James and Beatrice (Collier) Burton. She was united in marriage to James E. Steinwagner on April 3, 1943 in Kentland, KY. Jim died on May 1, 2006. After their marriage, they lived in Indiana before moving to Marshfield in 1945. Juanita worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and the Marshfield Care Center, retiring in 1986. She was an avid sports enthusiast, gardener, casino goer and cherished her time with her family and friends. When Juanita walked through lifes adversity with a sense of graciousness and dignity inspiring all who were blessed with knowing her. Juanita is survived by her four daughters, Marcia (James) Belke of Stevens Point, Phyllis (Brian) Schneider of Chippewa Falls, Linda (Patrick) Engevold of Spencer and Christine Schmitz of Brussels, Belgium; sonin-law James Hoffmann of Marshfield; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers, Donald Burton of Boston, MA, Roy (Sonja) Burton of Kingston,TX; three sisters, Louetta Williamson of Lafayette, IN, Jewell (Gene) Ladd of Somerset, KY and Anita Gagnon of Rossville, IL also a dear sister-in-law Loretta Tuchscher of Marshfield. Besides her parents and husband Jim, she was preceded in death by a daughter Marilyn Sue Hoffmann, granddaughter Pamela Belke in infancy and a sister Hettie Cornelius.
