Obituary

Josephine L. Dohm, 93 of Marshfield got a new address in Heaven on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Palliative Care Unit at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Manickam officiating. Gigi Plautz along with Sacred Heart Funeral Choir will provide the music for the services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers for the funeral. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Wednesday at the Rembs Funeral Home and again from 9:30 am Thursday until time of the services at the church. There will be a Parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 4pm Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home. Josephine was born on January 4, 1918 in Thorp to Melvin and Mayme (DeuChamp) Parkhill. She graduated from McKinley High School in Marshfield in 1936. She was united in marriage to Myron J. Dohm on August 5, 1940 in Waukon, IA. Myron died on August 18, 1998. Jo and Myron enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Together she and Myron had five children. They owned and operated the Lazy D Western Shop in Marshfield. She enjoyed square dancing, ceramics and traveling. In retirement, Jo and Myron enjoyed wintering in Lakeland, FL for 38 years while spending their summers in Wisconsin. Jo had many friends throughout the years. In her spare time, she sewed many things, knitted mittens and made slippers for her family. Jo is survived by her children, Nancy (Dick) Dischinger of Chili, James (Donna) Dohm of Spooner, Myra Krause of Marshfield and Victoria (Howard) Dankemeyer of Durand; 13 grandchildren, Debbie (Scott) Peterson, Richard (Cindy) Dischinger, Steve, (Michelle) Dischinger, Carla (Don) Rottscheit, Kevin (Erin) Dischinger, Kathy Guldan, Jeff Krall, Terry (Traci) Krall, Jamie (Katrina) Dohm, Jed Dohm, Troy and Travis Dankemeyer and Tim (Danielle) Dankemeyer; 19 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister Ruth Loveland of Marshfield and her dog Tippy. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Lynn in 1962, great granddaughter Kasey Guldan and three brothers -in-law Jack Loveland, Norman and Orville Dohm.
