Obituary

Joseph F."Pidee" Zellner, 76, of Auburndale past away on Thursday evening, January 12, 2012 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield. Visitations will be held Tuesday 4-8pm at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and Wednesday at the church from 9:30am until service time. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Auburndale with Reverend Thomas Rudolph officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be PFC Chris Hinkelmann, Sgt. Jeremiah Reinwand, MM3 (SS) Corey Zellner, Royce Mitchell, Richard Zellner, and PFC Derek Simonsmeier, Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Zellner, Trevor Zellner, Tracy Zellner, Andrea Zellner and Eric Firkus . Joseph was born on October 19, 1935 in Milladore to Frank and Ethelene (Cepress) Zellner. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Birzer on July 22, 1957 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Auburndale. Joe served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1952 to 1961. While farming in Auburndale, he was employed at S.J. Miller Cheese House in Marshfield, 17 years at Kelly Tire Service in Marshfield. He then owned and operated J.Z. Tire Repair in Auburndale for 10 years. "Pidee" was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved to dance polkas and waltzes. The past 4 years he enjoyed spending time and sharing his knowledge at Zellner Tire Center in Blenker where he was lovingly known as "Colonel" He is survived by his wife Beverly, children, Joseph L.Zellner of Marshfield; Barbara Zellner ,Arpin; Sgt. Dori Hinkelmann (US Army RET), Milwaukee; Janet Zellner, Merrill; John (Michele) Zellner, Auburndale; Robin (the late James) Zellner, Milladore; "Joener" Joel (Debbie) Zellner, Marshfield; Melanie (Robert) Mitchell, Humbird; Jeff (significant other Becky Novotny)Zellner, Auburndale; Candie Zellner, Auburndale; Jerome (Sandy) Zellner, Sparta; Jayne (Tom) Bloomer , Mosinee; Jay (significant other Jan Aschebrook) Zellner, Stratford; 27 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret (James) Jones and Pat (Ken) Mitchell, god-daughter Karen(Kendall) Kolbeck, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jerald and James Zellner, one sister Mary Ann "Sissie" Brown and her husband Bill. He will be greatly missed by all who have been touched by his love and friendship.
