Joseph P. Strupp, 87, Marshfield, died on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Marshfield Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev. Jerome Gerum will officiate and Sacred Heart Church Funeral Choir will provide music. Burial will take place in St. Michaels Cemetery, Hewitt. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:30 am until service time at Sacred Heart Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Strupp was born on April 16, 1924 in Marshfield, the son of Joseph and Kunigunda (Roecklein) Strupp. He attended schools in Hewitt and Marshfield. He married Irene M. Treml on October 14, 1950 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Auburndale. She died on January 4, 2009. Joe was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. The Strupps farmed in the Hewitt area and Joe also worked in construction. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, John Eisen Council #1799. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Packers and the Cubs. He had played baseball and also managed the Hewitt Team of the Yellow River League in Hewitt. He is survived by his son, Daniel (Barb) Strupp of Marshfield and a sister, Monica "Mickey" (Leo) Martin of Green Bay. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Joan Strupp of Watertown and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and siblings, Lillian Kreuser, Andrew Strupp, Carol Kuszak, Delores Shubert, Rita Bonfiglio, Olive "Honey" Wunrow, Hedwig "Hattie" Harris, James Strupp, Patrick Strupp and Katherine Schumann. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Marshfield Care Center and Ministry St. Josephs Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Joe.
