John Nathan Penworth (61) passed away on May 21, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center due to a battle with cancer. John was born on November 4, 1963 to the late Jack Penworth and Jennie Graham. John grew up in Pennsylvania. He moved to Wisconsin in 1996.
John held many jobs in his lifetime. Most recently he became a reverend. Other memorable jobs include being a tattoo artist. John loved to draw. He also had a strong love for animals. When he lived in Wisconsin Rapids, he volunteered at the humane society there. He cherished his cat Miles which he had for 2 years.
John was very creative. He loved to make things with his hands. His favorite craft projects included making things out of clay, making necklaces out of beads and rings out of spoons. John also liked to decorate clothing, specifically t-shirts, jackets and hats. One of John's bigger projects was making a table out of wood which he put together and painted himself.
His home was always open to family and friends. He always had a story for you. Most often, when you left John's home, you would have a smile on your face because his sense of humor was so great. John loved music and singing, specifically older country songs.
In the last 2 years of John's life, he was working on his GED. Even though, school was not his favorite pastime, he was looking forward to getting his high school diploma because he wanted to make his family proud.
John will be truly missed. He is Survived by his aunt Helen, his brother Brian and daughter Hannah. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack Penworth and Jennie Graham and uncle James Penworth.
