John A. Dittner, 85 of Marshfield died on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the House of The Dove in Marshfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Savarimuthu Selvaraj officiating. Dorothy Gehrke along with Sacred Heart Funeral Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitations will be from 4-8pm Thursday at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on Friday at the church from 9:30am until service time. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary service at 6:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
John was born on June 21, 1930 to Ernest and Marie (Bushman) Dittner in Vesper, 2 miles NE of 5 corners in a red brick farmhouse.
He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Hauser on November 11, 1950 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. He enjoyed square dance calling, time at the cabin on Lake Dexter with his family and a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America. He was employed at Fairmont Foods in Green Bay, Hub City Foods, Borden Foods and after retiring Marshfield Park and Rec. Department.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, children Michael Dittner of Clintonville, Jeffrey (Janice) Dittner of Fond du Lac and Lauri Dittner of Weston; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother Norbert (Mary Ellen) Dittner of Marshfield and two sisters Dorthy Smilde of Bradenton, FL and Geraldine (Robert) Schweiss of Niswa, MN.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law James and Bernadette Hauser.
