IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John "Butch" A.
Hayton
November 4, 1944 – August 17, 2025
John "Butch" Arden Hayton, 80, of Marshfield, Wl, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
John was born on November 4, 1944, in Medford, Wl, to Beatrice and John B. Hayton.
After graduating from Marshfield High School in 1962, he joined the military and served as a helicopter medic stationed in Japan during the Vietnam War.
In the 70s, he worked for a cable company which took him to Mankato, MN where he met his wife, Debra. They later moved to Idaho Falls, ID and lived there for about ten years. From there, they relocated to Chandler/Mesa, Arizona. In 1989, before having their second child, they moved to Stratford, WI, wanting their children to grow up with Midwestern values.
John worked as a plastic molder, auto parts salesperson, taxi cab driver, and mailman. He was employed by Parrett Windows until he retired in 2009.
John loved bowling, shooting pool, and playing sheepshead. He also enjoyed cheering for the Chicago Cubs and spending time with his sons and grandson. John will always be remembered for his quick wit and whimsical sense of humor.
John is survived by his life partner, Debra (Hollerich) Hayton; sons Jim Zahorik (Jenny), Jeffrey Paul Hayton (Jessie), and Randy James Hayton; grandson Kallan John Hayton; sister, Judith Ann Hayton; and nieces Davette Hrabak and Lynne Bohn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice (Deml), and father, John B. Hayton.
A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.
