IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John W.
Aitken
December 17, 1946 – June 6, 2025
John W. Aitken, 78, formerly of Kenosha, died Friday, June 6, 2025 in the company of
his friends in rural Granton.
Per his wishes there will be no formal services.
John was born December 17, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter & Margaret (Stuart) Aitken
who predecease him.
John had an adventurous spirit, spending his early adult years exploring new places to
live and trying his hand at various jobs, including entrepreneurship. He ultimately built a
long and fulfilling career as an electrician, working at Abbott Laboratories and Six Flags
amusement park.
John was happiest in the company of his closest friends. He loved playing cards and
other games, and his competitive streak was often a source of friendly teasing. Known
for his quick wit, vast knowledge, and love of spirited debate, John brought energy and
insight to every conversation.
He was a kind and generous soul who found true joy in caring for and supporting those
around him. A devoted animal lover, John had a special fondness for dogs and cats,
which was reflected in both his daily life and his philanthropic efforts.
He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.
Our most heartfelt gratitude to Compassus Hospice and Mike's Plyce Adult Family
Home for the loving care they provided John.
