JoAnne M. Nikolay, 86, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Comforts of Home in Marshfield.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Rembs Funeral Home where visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes.
JoAnne was born on April 9, 1934 in Marshfield to Raymond and Veronica (Ashbeck) Beck. She attended St. John's Catholic School in Marshfield, Columbus High School, and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Radiology. Upon graduating, she worked as an x-ray technician at St. Joseph's Hospital and then a stenographer. She was united in marriage to Frank V. Nikolay, Jr. on September 25, 1956 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. He passed away on May 30, 2014.
JoAnne enjoyed gardening, baking, and taking care of her grandchildren and dogs. She was also a member of the VFW Auxillary of Stratford. JoAnne was a caring, compassionate person who was loved by many.
She is survived by her six daughters, Christele (Delmar) Hall of Edgar, June Olson of Marshfield, Jane (Robert) Wunrow of Auburndale, Geralyn (Richard) Wilson of Marshfield, Paula (Russell) Anderson and Susan (Brian) Christensen, all of Auburndale. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Nathan, Jill, Ryan and Kellan Knetter, Angel (John) Winkler, Matt and Chris Olson and Blake and Brooke Anderson, and two great grandchildren, Nola and Grant Winkler. She is further survived by three sisters, Lois (Marc) Jones, LeaRae (Dennis) Galarowicz, and Judith Beck, and in-laws, Patti Nikolay, Robert (Nancy) Nikolay, Jerry (Valerie) Nikolay, Kathleen Reigel, Carol and Roger Ress, and Betty Worzella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Patricia (Clarence) Ottelien, and in-laws, James (Jean) Sazama, Bob Reigel, and Ron Worzella.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stratford VFW Auxiliary and Marshfield Area Pet Shelter.
