Joanne M. Briggs, age 68, passed away peacefully, on Monday, July 15, 2024, at her home in the Town of Rock.
Joanne was born on January 30, 1956, in South Milwaukee, to Merlin & Jean (Ehlers) Briggs. She was a 1974 graduate of South Milwaukee High School.
In her free time, she enjoyed doing bead work, making jewelry, playing pool with her friends at Klopps bar in Shell Lake, reading, doing crosswords and sudoku puzzles, spending time with and spoiling her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, baking, and spending time with her kitties. Joanne was very interested in aliens and outer space and enjoyed going to see the cicadas with her best friends every 17 years as a tradition at Cicada Fest in Lake Genova. A lover of nature, she spent much time tending to her houseplants and feeding her crows.
She is survived by her children: Aaron H Andrews of Eagen MN, Timothy A (Amanda) Andrews of Rice Lake, and son-in-law Dean Wendt of Mosinee; grandchildren: Bryanne (Daniel) Nickel of Marshfield, Zachary Glamann of Marshfield, Jasmine (Teraden Schock) Pyka of Eau Claire, and Edison Andrews of Rice Lake; and two great-grandchildren: Jeffrey and Eilah Nickel.
Joanne is further survived by her siblings: Janice L (Bruce) Canny of Waterford, James C (Diane) Briggs of De Pere, and Michael (Christine) Moore of Allen's Grove. She is also survived by many incredible nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who've all held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Frank L Moore, daughter Gina M. Wendt, brother Robert C. Briggs, and nephew Daniel C. Moore.
Special thanks to Interim Hospice for all their support, help, and guidance during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation to the Washburn County Humane Society is made in her honor.
