Joan C. Seefeldt, 72, of Marshfield,passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the House of The Dove under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice after a courageous 8 1/2 year battle with cancer. Memorial services will be 11am Friday, June 3rd at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Bob Lesher officiating. Maldon Plank along with congregational singing will provide the music. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10am Friday until time of the services at the church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Joan was born on August 11, 1938 in Tigerton to August and Hildegard (Knoke) Sell. She was united in marriage to Eugene E. Seefeldt on July 2, 1960 in Tigerton. Joan was a long time employee of AAL, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting and bragging about her grandchildren. Joan was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Appleton and more recently a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Besides her husband Eugene, she is survived by her two children, Kevin (Jeannie) Seefeldt of Kenosha and Lisa (David) Carroll of Marshfield; four grandchildren, Madeline and Jack Seefeldt and Timothy and Emily Carroll. She is further survived by one sister Elaine Grosskopf of Wausau. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Muriel Bruss and two brothers Wilbert and Wallace Sell. Joan's family would like to thank the Oncology departments at Marshfield Clinic and St. Joseph's Hospital as well as the staff at House of the Dove for their wonderful care during her illness.
