Jim J. Schmitz, 67 of Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18th at Rembs Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Belt officiating. Burial will follow at Lynn Cemetery in the Town of Lynn, Clark County. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.

Jim was born in Milwaukee on July 3, 1957 to Ronald and Shelby (Plaman) Schmitz. They soon set-tled in Stratford where he spent most of his formative years, graduating from Stratford High School in 1976. He was employed at Weinbrenner Shoes.

An enthusiast of the outdoors, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.

He is survived by his sister, Lynn Schmitz of Eau Claire, his nieces & nephews: Gloria, Kenny Dolly, Heather, and Steven Earl, and his sweetheart Janet Kostick of Marshfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
