Jeanette R. "Jean" Breu, 90, Marshfield, died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care, Marshfield, with family by her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and grandsons and a nephew, Ken Ireland will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church.
Jeanette was born on December 1, 1924 in Marshfield, the daughter of Charles and Adelia (Nennig) Ireland and was a 1942 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to John N. Breu on January 3, 1944 at Maxton Army Air Corps Base, NC. He died on March 22, 2005.
Jean was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital Obstetrics Department as an OB Technician for 26 years until her retirement. In her earlier years she had been active in the Town of Day Homemakers Club. She also had been a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Auburndale. She had volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Hospital Chapel. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Allen (Colleen) Breu, Judy (Jerry) Aschenbrenner, all of Marshfield, Beverly (Al) Fricke of Colby, Bob (Julie) Breu of Marshfield, and Susan (Steven) Schultz of Hiles. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Wendy LaMeer, Maria (Jeff) Lewis, Brian (Dori) Aschenbrenner, Eric (Laura) Aschenbrenner, Michelle (fiancé – Tim DuVall) Houle, Victoria Olund, Jeremy (fiancé – Toni Eggebeen) Houle, Chris (Brenda) Breu, Amy (Josh) Schwantes, Becky (Justin) Cera, and Kyle (Haley Tupper) Brockway, 36 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Keith Aschenbrenner, a great great grandson, Avery, a sister, Doris (LaVerne) Swensen, a brother, Jim (Audrey) Ireland, a former daughter-in-law, Ruthann Sparks and a former son-in-law, Dale Houle.
A memorial will be designated in her name at a later date.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
