Janice M. Rasmussen 69 of Pittsville died on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her home with her family at her side. She was under the care of Ministry Home Hospice services. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pittsville with Rev. Tom Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Tuesday at the Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville and again on Wednesday at the church from 10am until time of services. Janice was born on June 19, 1943 in the town of Wood, Wood County to Lawrence and Madeline (DeBevec) Herzberg. She attended Good Cheer Elementary School and was a 1961 graduate of Pittsville High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Rasmussen on July 27, 1963 in Cresco, Iowa. After their marriage, they farmed in the town of Wood for over 40 years, retiring in 2006. While farming, they had a herd of Registered Jersey cows. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, quilting and loved her grandchildren. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and a former 4-H leader. Janice is survived by her husband Don, children Jane (Jeff) Hartman of Marshfield, Shelly (Kurt) Kaetterhenry of Melissa, TX and Eric Rasmussen of Minneapolis; one step daughter Laura Sherer of Milwaukee; six grandchildren. two step grandsons and 1 step great grandson She is further survived by three sisters, Jean (Glen) Knutson of Arpin, Julie (Glen) Hartsough of Pittsville and Joan Herzberg of Marshfield.
