IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet C.
Mews
December 15, 1945 – November 5, 2025
Janet Carol Mews, 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Marshfield. She was born on December 15, 1945, in Spencer, Wisconsin. Janet leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family. She was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Ella Matter (Huber), both of whom preceded her in death, along with her brother, DuWayne Matter.
In 1968, Janet married Leslie Mews; together, they built a life centered around family. Janet was a loving mother to Lisa Sue Bandoli (married to Jeffrey) of Germantown, WI, Kent Leslie Mews (married to Cheryl Anderson) of Marshfield, WI, and Jodie Jean Treutel (married to Mitch) of Mt. Juliet, TN. She was a proud grandmother to Jeffrey Bandoli (married to Bridgett), Kristina Joswiak (married to Samuel), Noah Treutel, Madeline Mews, Madison Treutel, and Stephanie Mews, and a caring great-grandmother to Ruby and Lorelei Joswiak.
Janet worked at Berg Equipment, Klinner & Co., Hawkins Ash, and Baptie before co-owning Maple Street U.S.A. and Rapids Floor Mart with her husband. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors around a cozy campfire, going on tractor club rides, bowling, and tending to her flowers. Her warmth and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In accordance with Janet's wishes, a private memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Loyal Sportsmen Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Janet's memory to The House of the Dove.
The family extends a special thank you to the compassionate staff at The House of the Dove for their exceptional care and support.
Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
