Please note: The memorial for Tex will be held on Saturday March 30th (next weekend) due to a family member out of the country. James A. "Tex" Korth, 77, Hewitt, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Jon Guenther will officiate. Military rites will be conducted at the church following the service by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1866. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. James was born on September 17, 1941 in Marshfield, to Herold and Anita (Woltmann) Korth. He attended country school in Hewitt and was a 1959 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He served in the 32nd Infantry of the Wisconsin Army National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. He married Joyce R. Gallatin on July 30, 1966 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield. Jim had been employed for Doine Excavating for 30 years. In 1988 he began his own business, Tex Excavating, operating for 30 years until the present time. Tex enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting with his children and grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served as a basketball referee at Trinity school for many years. Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce and their three children, and eight grandchildren, Steven "Grizz" Korth of Hewitt and his children, Brandon, Brad and Greg; Robert (Brenda) Korth of Hewitt and their children, Cody and Colby; and Debra (Mike) Moore of Marshfield and their children, Sidney, Kelsey and Charlie. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Gallatin of Marshfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael in infancy, and a brother-in-law, James Gallatin.
