James E. Jones, Sr., 93, of Marshfield, entered eternal life on Friday, May 24, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He proudly served his country in the Korean War, being honorably discharged in 1954.

He owned and operated Jones Welding and Repair in Auburndale until retiring. He then pursued his passion for woodworking, which he continued until shortly before his death. His integrity and character were evident in the quality of his precise workmanship. He was truly a gifted man.

James is survived by his children: James Jr. (Charlotte), Mary Michlig, Judy (Mike) Forst, Karen (Kendall) Kolbeck, Donna, Bob (Loretta), and Connie Brockman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: John (Marge) and Larry (Donna); and sisters-in-law: Patti Mitchell and Bev Zellner.

He was preceded in death by his soulmate and wife, Margaret, in 2016; sons-in-law: Ron Michlig and Jeff Brockman; grandson Sheldon Michlig; brothers: Tom and Mike; brothers-in-law: Bill Brown, Ken Mitchell, and Joe (Pidee) Zellner; and sister-in-law Mary Ann (Sissy) Brown.

Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. There will be no public visitation. His wishes were for a private family service at a later date.
