James "Jim" Jewell Wakeland, 82, passed away May 14, 2023 in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

James was born December 28, 1940 in Millersburg, Illinois to Donald and Louise Artcher Wakeland.

James attended school in Aledo, Illinois. He met and married Madeline Jewell Miller on December 29, 1965. They had four children together James, Jr., Jeffery, Jena and Jerold. They divorced in 1982.

In 1983 James married Cathy Jean Witcanack McNichol. They had a son John. Cathy and Jim divorced in 1998.

On October 19, 2008 Jim married Jorji Ann Jones Rischè in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

James was a newspaper carrier for the dispatch/Argus Rock Island for many years. He loved the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.

James is survived by son, Jeffrey and Debra Wakeland of Keithsburg, Illinois. Daughter Jena Mettler, of Burlington, Iowa, son Jerrold and Angela Wakeland, of Little York, Illinois, and John of Citronelle, Alabama, daughter in law Rebecca Hathaway of Coal Valley, Illinois. Grandchildren Christina Johnson, Johnathan Johnson, Troy, Jerrold Jr., Dalton, and DeWayne Wakeland and several great grandchildren.

Two sisters Patricia and Dave Claeys and Donna Medhurst. Stepdaughters Peni Cahoon, Dodie Rischè, and Jami Weis all of Wisconsin.

James is preceded in death by spouse Jorji Ann, his parents and son James J. Wakeland, Jr.
