James J. Holub, 65, Spencer, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 pm until service time.
James was born on June 30, 1950 in Chicago to James and Sophie (Leshevitz) Holub. He was a veteran of the United States Army Special Forces serving during the Vietnam War.
Jim worked at various places and was a "jack of all trades". He had been a bricklayer. He enjoyed boxing, muskie fishing and working on cars.
He was united in marriage to Rebeca Ovando on September 4, 1982 in Maywood, IL.
He is survived by his wife, Rebeca and children, Rebeca Marie (John) Dammann of Neillsville and Roberta (Joshua) Bruss of Loyal. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Sofia F. Dammann. He is further survived by siblings, Robert (Lillian) Holub of Hawaii, Debra Nelson of Joliet, IL, William (Laurie) Simpson of LaGrange, IL, and John Simpson of Joliet, IL.
The family will designate a memorial in Jim's name at a later date.
