James R. Heiting, 84 of Marshfield died Friday morning, June 7, 2013 at the Wells Nature View Assisted Living on South Apple Avenue, Marshfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Sebastian Venni officiating. Sacred Heart Funeral Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield and military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #54. Visitations will be from 5-7pm Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on Thursday at the church from 9:30am until service time. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary service at 6:30pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Jim was born on July 14, 1928 in Marshfield to Raymond and Theresa (Goldbach) Heiting. Prior to and after graduating from Marshfield Senior High School he was employed at Berg Equipment, retiring after more than 50 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was an usher, Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus, Marshfield Trap & Skeet Club and enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his siblings, Kenneth (Ardyce) Heiting, Ronald (Donna) Heiting, Marjorie Giles and Shirley (David) Egner all of Marshfield, sister-in-law, Joan Heiting of Wausau and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald and a brother-in-law, Gary Giles.
