Obituary

James H. Dearth, 64, Arpin, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at his home in the Town of Richfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Mark Krueger officiating. Burial will take place in McMillan Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Town of McMillan, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until service time, all at Christ Lutheran Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. James was born on April 17, 1947 in Owen, the son of Harvey and Katherine (Matson) Dearth. He attended Greenwood High School and obtained his G.E.D. in 2001. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Viet Nam War. Jim worked in the agriculture field at various businesses as a mechanic and shop foreman from 1966 until 2000, lastly as a parts specialist at Monroe Trucking, Marshfield. During his career he received numerous certifications in agricultural technology and became a certified farm equipment appraiser. He was a quiet, gentle man, loved to fix and design anything, and was extremely proud of the back hoe he designed and built himself and the indoor pool he built for his wife for their twenty fifth wedding anniversary. He enjoyed racing and was owner and operator of a stock car and also during his life he was an inspector at local race tracks. He and Melody J. Lange were united in marriage on November 8, 1986 at Christ Lutheran Church. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Melody, by a son, John (Carla) Dearth of Delevan and their daughter, Crystal and a daughter, Jennifer (Tony) Cears of Tocoma, Washington and their children, Carlos and Amber. He is also survived by two sisters, Beverly (Joe) Murphy of Brodhead, Wisconsin and Barbara Herrin of Marshfield, and a brother, Delbert (Carol) Dearth of Wisconsin Rapids. He is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Tammy Bieneck of Auburndale and a special niece, Cassandra, and Norman and Jan Lange of Marshfield and his father-in-law, Norman J. Lange of Arpin. He was predeceased by his parents, a son, James D. Dearth, a grandson, Joseph Kuklinski and a niece, Laura Goetz. Real love takes more than flowers. Means more than beautiful words. Real love means keeping promises holding on when you dont want to, being strong so that others may rest.
