Jack F. Wallace, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at his home in the Town of Rock, Wood County.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time. Rev. James Weighner will officiate. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Milladore, where military rites will be conducted. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jack was born on February 25, 1942 in Madison, Wisconsin, to George and Clara (Steiner) Wallace and was a graduate of Madison East High School. He also was a 1967 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he received his Bachelor's degree in political science.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Army, during Vietnam. He had served as Director of the Veterans Administration for the State of Washington.
Jack had numerous hobbies including winemaking, was a music enthusiast and he and Mary enjoyed traveling around the world. He cherished his family and will be truly missed.
He married Mary L. Kotas on June 27, 1970 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
He is survived by his wife, Mary and their children, Andrew (Heather) Wallace of Merrill, WI and Jessica (Marcos) Nunes-Ueno of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Harriet and Dorothy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
