Irene A. Waltenberg, 76, Junction City, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at her home.

Burial will take place in Runkel Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Portage County at a later date.

Irene was born on November 18, 1947 to John and Sophie (Kozla) Hawro. She graduated from Mosinee High School. She married Claude "Skip" Waltenberg Sr. on December 1, 1976 in Wausau.

She enjoyed cats, all animals, fishing, going to the casino, cooking, listening to polka, going to baseball games, watching the Packers, being outside, and working in her garden.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Waltenberg and Scott (Sara) Waltenberg, grandson, Alexander Wagner, brothers, Walter Hawro of Kronenwetter and Edward (Francis) Hawro of Green Bay, and sister, Helen Orzechowski of Weston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Claude "Skip", and sisters, Ann (Eugene) Wentzel and Theresa Hawro.

Memorials can be made to the Grotto in Rudolph.
