IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ila J.
Seidl
October 4, 1932 – September 13, 2025
It is with the deepest love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Ila Jean Seidl, age 92, of Marshfield, on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Our House Assisted Care in Portage.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, at St. John's Catholic Church, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Dan Thelen will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Ila was born on October 4, 1932, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Peter "Bert" and Arvilla (Kuehlman) Rasmussen. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School. On July 7, 1956, she married Donald D. Seidl. Together they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on October 15, 2001.
Ila was employed with Almond Freight Line in Rockford, Illinois, where she worked for 25 years and developed many lasting friendships.
Ila touched the lives of so many, as a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for so many great things, but the joy, love and generosity that she brought to the world was truly special. She had a smile that lit up any room she entered, and that smile lasted a lifetime. Ila and Don had so much love to give to the world that once they learned they wouldn't be able to have children of their own, they decided they would foster children in need, until they were finally able to adopt their daughter, Sandra. Ila will be missed dearly by many, but the incredible impact she had on those lives will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Kirk) Boehm of Poynette, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Steven (Sabrina) Banovetz of Houston, Texas and Kollin (Deaunna) Boehm of Pardeeville, Wisconsin; and two great grandchildren, Steven John Banovetz III and Callie Joy Boehm, who brought tremendous joy to her life.
She is further survived by her siblings, Janice Rasmussen of Marshfield, Marian (Gary) Gunn of Marshfield, Jack Rasmussen of Naples, FL, and Larry (Bonnie) Rasmussen of Marshfield and sisters-in-law Iris Rasmussen, Barb Rasmussen, and Lois Umhoefer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Sandra, Keith, Dennis, Roger, Vicky, and Evelyn.
The family plans to establish a memorial in her name at a later date. In leu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
The family would like to recognize the amazing staff at Our House Assisted Care in Portage who helped care for Ila for the last four years. They always went above and beyond to make her feel special.
