IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Idele E.
Tritz
April 17, 1927 – September 14, 2025
Idele Elizabeth (Fischer) Tritz, age 98, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons: Brian Eskildsen, Todd Eskildsen, George Kellner, Jason Kellner, Craig Tritz, and Ryan Lapp.
Idele was born on April 17, 1927, to Fred and Mary (Engels) Fischer. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Joseph C. Tritz, on August 27, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. They shared over 53 years of marriage before his passing on January 24, 2003.
Idele is survived by her five children: Sandra Frederickson of Marshfield; Marilyn "Tootie" (Lynn) Eskildsen of Loyal; Ken (Karen) Tritz of Marshfield; Joseph (Laura) Tritz of Marshfield; and Linda (James) Gilbertson of Chili. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary; her husband, Joseph; her brother, Alvin; her sister, Arlene; her sons-in-law, George Sr., Donald, and Kurt; and one grandson, Lee.
Over the years, Idele worked at Trudeau's Café, the local shoe factory, and Weyerhaeuser. Well into her 90s, she volunteered at the Senior Craft Shoppe in Marshfield, where she and her husband shared their talents by making and selling many beautiful, handmade crafts.
Idele enjoyed life's simple joys— doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, gardening, and cooking for her family. She loved trips to the cabin up north and took pride in hosting countless Easter and Thanksgiving gatherings until her growing family eventually outgrew her home.
Faith was a cornerstone of Idele's life. When she could no longer attend Mass in-person, she watched services online and received the Eucharist weekly from Dave and Judy Dreschler.
Idele's final moments were filled with love. Surrounded by her family offering their goodbyes, she gently returned each farewell one by one, a sad yet profoundly beautiful moment to witness.
Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the 3rd floor ICU staff at Marshfield Medical Center for their kindness, compassion, and care. God bless you all.
