Obituary

Herbert C. Weber, 86, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Three Oaks Health Services. A private Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Herb was born in Marshfield on May 15, 1931 to Herbert Sr. and Esther (Jarvis) Weber. He attended Sacred Heart School and was a 1949 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. Following his education, he served in the Army National Guard until he enlisted in the Army in 1953. After his discharge from service, Herbert worked at his parent's grocery store until 1960 when he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point earning a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University in 1964. Thereafter he went on to obtain a Masters degree in Speech Therapy from the University in 1970. For the next 30 years he taught in the Marshfield Schools until his retirement. He was then active in the Marshfield Historical Society, volunteering in the Governor William H. Upham House; and was active in arranging class reunions. Herb was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as an active member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church for many years assisting in a number of capacities including among other things distributing communion and acting as an usher at Sunday Masses. He is survived by his brothers Richard (Diane) Weber of Schofield and Charles "Chuck" (Judy) Weber of Marshfield. Herb is further survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
